Andrew J. Sherman is a Partner at Brown Rudnick in Washington, D.C., where he co-leads the firm’s Emerging Growth Companies & Venture Capital practice. A highly respected corporate lawyer, he brings more than 30 years of experience advising Fortune 500 corporations, private equity firms, and emerging growth companies on franchising, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, cross-border transactions, and capital-raising strategies.
Andrew is a global expert in leveraging intellectual property and technology assets, intellectual asset management and harvesting, as well as international corporate transactional and franchising matters. He has advised dozens of Fortune 500 companies and hundreds of emerging growth companies across a diverse set of industries. Andrew has written nearly 30 books on the legal and strategic aspects of business growth and the leveraging of intellectual property. His book Harves4ng Intangible Assets was the basis for his TEDx talk on the same topic.
Beyond his legal practice, Andrew serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, where he teaches courses on business growth and corporate strategy.
